Course Announcement: Do No Harm – Foundations of Safer Herbalism

I’m thrilled to finally share that enrolment will be opening this autumn for Do No Harm: Foundations of Safer Herbalism, an online course for grassroots, community and clinical herbalists who want to feel more confident, skilled, and grounded in practicing herbal medicine safely and effectively.

This course has been in the works for years, emerging from deep conversations with herbalists who feel overwhelmed, under-equipped, or afraid of causing harm. It’s  especially for those practicing outside of state medical settings, in community clinics, mobile setups, mutual aid projects, and medicine-making collectives.

🌿 What is it?

Do No Harm is a self-paced online course that supports herbalists to:

– Understand and navigate their scope of practice

– Learn clinical red flags and when to refer

– Deepen their knowledge of plant chemistry, contraindications, and herb-drug interactions

– Build a solid understanding of herbal safety foundations

– Explore anti-oppressive frameworks for care

– Develop critical thinking skills

– Gain confidence to work with complex cases and community needs

– Implement safer practices in your own projects

The course will also explore the ecology of care — looking at how we can practice herbalism responsibly, in relationship with our wider ecosystems, movements, and communities.

💻 How does it work?

– Self-paced learning with lifetime access

– Quarterly live calls for the anti-oppressive herbal practice module with external, highly experienced facilitators

– Audio/video lessons, slides, resources and case studies
