Ana Lygia is a clinical herbalist, educator, and server, offering virtual 1:1 herbal consultations on a sliding scale. A graduate of the three-year program at ArborVitae School of Traditional Herbalism in New York, she creates collaborative protocols with clients to bring the magic of herbalism into their lives, with practical tools rooted in daily self-care. She believes that healing work does not happen in a vacuum, and that to transform ourselves those of us with privilege must also work to transform a world that perpetuates structures of oppression. Her maternal great-grandmother, Adele Dawson, was an herbalist, gardener, artist, and activist. Ana values drawing on her ancestral lineage (Irish, Welsh, Scottish, Polish, French, Jewish) to support community wellness. The mission of this work is to take part in our collective return to our innate and historical connections to the plants we coevolved with.
She has a particular interest in soothing imbalances of the heart–including grief, addictions, anxiety, and the repercussions of chronic stress. She has supported clients as they navigate digestive distress, sleep issues, immune dysregulation (allergies, autoimmune), musculoskeletal pain (including fibromyalgia), hormonal imbalances, bacterial/viral infections, and more. As a sober person herself, Ana enjoys working with alcohol-free herbal preparations such as oxymels, smoke, and kitchen creations.
