It is with a heavy heart that I have had to cancel the Dublin event as part of the Anarchism & Care tour this March.
Please note, the Cork & Cloughjordan are still going ahead.
The night before the tour, I got the news that my best friend Taylor had tried to kill himself. Part of the trigger was transphobic abuse and discrimination by staff in his prison, HMP Eastwood Park. He cut open his own neck, was rushed to hospital and has more than 30 stitches 🙁 It was only a few months ago that a woman in HMP Foston Hall died from doing the same and bled out in her cell.
Please see the call out here asking for support for Taylor.
Sunday was the earliest that I could book a visit at the prison. I’m Taylor’s next of kin and no one else is able to go. So with sadness, I need to leave Ireland on Sunday morning in order to get to the visit on time. I am due to go to Calais with Herbalists without Borders on Tuesday and so this is my only window without jeopardising the rest of the trip and affecting the team.
Please email me to be kept up to date on when we rearrange the event! I am so sorry to have inconvenienced anyone, and thank you again to IWW Ireland to helping organise the events behind the scenes.
In solidarity,
Nicole
