Support Hatem and His Family in Gaza
Hatem Mohamed is a father of three from Gaza who has lost everything, including his home, in the ongoing genocide. He is currently caring for his three children – Hoor, Muhammad, and a newborn baby born during the war – as well as his elderly mother and two sisters, one of whom has Down Syndrome and requires special care.
Despite his degree in medical imaging, Hatem was unable to find work before the war and now volunteers in hospitals, helping however he can.
With eight family members depending on him and no stable source of income, Hatem has launched this fundraiser to help meet their urgent needs: food, water, clothing, baby supplies, and basic necessities for survival. Longer-term, the family hopes to rebuild their home once a lasting ceasefire is in place.
Funds will be transferred to Hatem by a trusted friend in the UK. Any support is deeply appreciated.

About the Books
Books include:
The Prisoner’s Herbal – This book contains detailed profiles of ten plants that are commonly found in prison yards. For readers on the outside, it provides practical advice about how to work with common weeds in simple and direct ways and will inspire solidarity across the walls.
Overcoming Burnout – This book is about overcoming burnout, linking the author’s journey of recovery with wider systemic forces such as classism, sexism and power dynamics in groups, poverty, chronic illness and ableism, as well as grief and trauma from prison and state repression. It is a call for models of mutual aid and collective care.
The Medicinal Herb Colouring Book – This book shares 50 beautiful illustrations of common plants and descriptions of their medicinal properties.
Herbalism and State Violence – State violence is a brutal reality for vast numbers of people. It is an experience that is racialised, classed and gendered in its design and application. It intersects with nearly all forms of oppression. Plant medicines can be a tool for solidarity and resistance; they can practically support us to survive and they can help us recover from trauma. From herbal care for handcuff injuries to healing from incarceration, this book looks at examples from around the world of herbal solidarity in practice.
